Overview
Section titled “Overview”Work units are the core of Aether - they represent projects, services, or tasks your business delivers to customers.
Types of Work Units
Section titled “Types of Work Units”Service-Based
Section titled “Service-Based”For service businesses (consulting, agencies):
- Hourly or project-based work
- Track time and billable hours
- Link to customer accounts
Project-Based
Section titled “Project-Based”For project management:
- Milestones and deliverables
- Task tracking
- Team collaboration
Product-Based
Section titled “Product-Based”For product businesses:
- Inventory management
- Sales tracking
- Product details
Creating a Work Unit
Section titled “Creating a Work Unit”- Click “New Work Unit” button
- Fill in required details:
- Name
- Customer
- Type (Service/Project/Product)
- Status
- Add optional information:
- Description
- Due date
- Assigned team members
- Save
Work Unit Details
Section titled “Work Unit Details”Each work unit has multiple tabs:
- Overview: Summary and key details
- Activities: Timeline of actions and updates
- Time Tracking: Log hours worked (if timer plugin enabled)
- Tasks: To-do items and checklists (if tasks plugin enabled)
- Files: Attachments and documents (if files plugin enabled)
Status Management
Section titled “Status Management”Work units can have various statuses:
- Draft: Not started
- Active: In progress
- On Hold: Temporarily paused
- Completed: Finished
- Archived: Closed and archived
Best Practices
Section titled “Best Practices”- Keep work unit names descriptive
- Update status regularly
- Link to customer accounts
- Use tags for organization
- Archive completed work units
